Giving Feedback on the Learning Experience

Part of the programme review process includes learner questionnaires at the end of each programme and in some cases mid-programme. In some centres, there is learner representation which feeds directly into centre management e.g. Carlow Institute of Further Education. There is also learner representation at KCETB board level to ensure that the learner has a voice within KCETB FET.

As a first point of call, if a learner has an issue or query, the learner will contact their tutor or the centre manager / coordinator. Many queries are looking for information rather than providing feedback. If a learner has feedback that is not addressed through course evaluation, a formal meeting is arranged with key parties to explore the learner’s issue, detail the steps needed to resolve the issue (if needed) and detail how the action or result might be monitored.
