Schools

ETB School Ethos

ETB schools provide equal opportunities to all students in the communities they serve and strive to deliver high-quality education through respectful, positive, supportive and responsive learning environments.

Primary Schools

ETB primary schools are recognised Community National Schools. Community National Schools (CNS) are child-centred, multi-denominational, publicly-accountable schools that strive to provide a first-class education for every child.

Post-Primary Schools

KCETB provides full-time educational services in 13 post-primary schools. Second-level education aims to provide a holistic, quality learning environment that prepares individual students for higher/ further education or immediate entry into the workplace, as well as equiping them with the some of the necessary skills to become active, responsible citizens.

Home School Liaison (HSCL)

Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) is a major mainstream preventative strategy for pupils at risk of not reaching their potential within the educational system due to issues that adversely affect pupil attainment and school retention.

School Completion (SCP)

The School Completion Programme (SCP) aims to increase the number of children and young people staying in primary and second-level education and, in doing so, improve the number of pupils who successfully complete their senior cycle, or equivalent.

Special Education Needs (SEN)

KCETB is committed to seeing all its students reach their full potential. The continuum of support provides a framework for schools to enable them to identify and respond to students’ needs in a flexible way. This process is also supported through engagement with external professionals as required.

ETB School Ethos

ETB schools are state, co-educational, multi-denominational schools underpinned by five core values: excellence in education; care; equality; community; respect.

ETBs are the largest providers of multi-denominational education in Ireland and renowned for the provision of an inclusive, innovative, high-quality education that meets the needs of the entire community.

ETB schools bestow equal opportunities on their students and strive to provide high-quality education through respectful, positive, supportive and responsive learning environments.

Our schools benefit greatly from the broad range of supports and services provided by KCETB.

ETBs provide governance, educational, administrative, financial, human resources and information technology (IT) supports to schools. This has a direct impact on the students and families attending these schools, as it allows school leadership to focus on its primary task of leading teaching and learning, ensuring the highest standard of excellence. Through their adult education programmes, ETBs can also provide a valuable service to the parents of students attending ETB schools.

What will my child experience in an ETB school?

ETB schools strive to provide all students with equal opportunities to engage with the curriculum and school life. In all aspects of school life, every member of our school community is treated equally regardless of race, gender, religion/belief, age, family status, civil status, membership of the traveller community, sexual orientation, ability or socio-economic status.

Our schools provide a safe physical and social environment that reinforces a sense of belonging, both to the school community and to wider society. They strive to enable every student to realise their full potential, regardless of any aspect of their identity or background. Our schools promote a fully-inclusive education that recognises the plurality of identities, beliefs and values held by students, parents and staff.
