The process of electing staff representatives to the Board of Kilkenny and Carlow ETB is underway.
The process of the election is in accordance with regulations set out in circular 0028/2019 Arrangements for the Election of Staff to Education and Training Boards 2019.
NOTICE OF ELECTION
The Education and Training Boards Act 2013 provides for the appointment of members to an education and training board (ETB) as a result of election by eligible members of staff of the ETB.
In accordance with Section 32 (2) of the Act, eligible staff members of Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board will elect two (2) ETB members, one (1) male and one (1) female from separate panels of male and female candidates.
The final register of staff electors is available in the Carlow administrative office and in the Kilkenny administrative office from Thursday 11 April 2019.
Each candidate must be nominated by means of a separate NOMINATION PAPER FOR ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF STAFF AS MEMBERS, which must be signed by not less than five (5) eligible electors (Schedule 2).
A candidate must also complete a FORM OF DECLARATION (Schedule 3).

Completed nomination forms and declarations of consent must be delivered by the nominee, so as to reach the Returning Officer in the KCETB Carlow office anytime before 1pm on Monday 29 April 2019.
The Returning Officer will rule on the validity of nominations from 2pm to 5pm on Monday 29 April 2019.
Candidates may withdraw up to 12 noon on Tuesday 30 April 2019.
A list of candidates will be available on Wednesday afternoon 1 May 2019.
An election will only be necessary should there be more than one nomination for a male and/or more than one nomination for a female staff member.
